Reverence and Reproach: Modernist Legacies in Contemporary Film and Video

Tate Britain, Clore Auditorium

6 July 2015, 18.30 – 20.30

Coinciding with the exhibition Barbara Hepworth: Sculpture for a Modern World, this screening explores how modernist art and design is referenced and re-emerges in contemporary moving image practice.

A rare screening of Gregory Markopoulos’s 16mm film portrait of Barbara Hepworth, Moment (1970), is followed by video works by artists Shana Moulton and Lucy Stein, Pauline Beaudemont, Ursula Mayer, Elizabeth Price, Maria Taniguchi and Mark Leckey.
